SUSD is already recognized as a leader in academic achievement, and I am committed to ensuring that success continues for all students.

academic achievement

The Governing Board plays a critical role in setting priorities, allocating resources, and supporting school leadership. My experience working collaboratively with educators, families, and community partners positions me to provide thoughtful, steady leadership focused on student outcomes.

By supporting continuous improvement, data-informed decision-making, and accountability at every level, SUSD can identify areas of strength while targeting opportunities for accelerated growth. A balanced approach—combining rigorous college-preparatory coursework with high-quality career and technical education—ensures students graduate ready for the next steps in their lives.

Preparing students for life after graduation means more than academic achievement alone. Students should leave high school with a clear understanding of their interests, strengths, and available career pathways.

Career Exploration & Readiness

I support expanding career exploration and guidance beginning in elementary school and continuing through graduation. Through relevant coursework, real-world learning experiences, and strong counseling support, students can make informed choices about college, career training, or entering the workforce. When students are prepared and confident, they are more likely to become productive, independent, and engaged members of the community.

Partnerships with colleges, universities, and career and technical education programs are essential to providing students with hands-on experiences and exposure to future opportunities. I know firsthand how to implement and develop these partnerships, having worked extensively in both a public school and university setting.

As SUSD faces the reality of school closures and limited resources, collaboration with the broader community is more important than ever.

Community Engagement

By aligning local business, nonprofits, faith communities and civic organizations with the specific needs of individual schools, SUSD can expand opportunities for students while building lasting, meaningful relationships. Indeed, partnerships with community organizations benefit not just students but the entire community - strengthening connections, fostering shared responsibility, and helping Scottsdale continue to develop economically. Full & thriving schools, connected with community resources, will continue to make SUSD the top choice for families in and around our city. My professional background and volunteer leadership uniquely prepare me to help guide and grow these efforts.
